iCarly is a powerful and beloved franchise spanning 16 years and 9 seasons, with die-hard fans all over the world. The original series, which has been credited as “the most successful kids sitcom of all time,” aired on Nickelodeon from 2007 to 2012 and received record-breaking viewership, including iSaved Your Life which is the second most-watched telecast in the network’s history with 11.2 million viewers. The revival series premiered on Paramount+ in 2021 and was considered an instant hit amongst fans and critics because it matured with its original audience while keeping the heart of the Nickelodeon series.

The iCarly revival was successful for Paramount+. Bob Bakish (former president and CEO of Paramount Global) called it a “total home run” and Brian Robbins (former CEO of Paramount Pictures) said, “The demand for the new show was at such a fever pitch by the time [the new show] launched that it propelled iCarly to be, if not the most successful show on Paramount+, one of the most successful shows.” The revival’s immense popularity earned it a season 2 renewal while season 1 episodes were still being released. During season 2 filming, Paramount+ said it was their #1 show. It was a top Paramount+ show throughout season 3, and Miranda Cosgrove won the Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Female TV Star (Family) for her performance.

On October 4, 2023, despite the iCarly revival’s success and Paramount+ teasing a season 4 renewal, the show was cancelled on TWO huge cliffhangers (Carly and Freddie’s almost-wedding & Carly and Spencer’s mom reveal) without a proper explanation. On December 6, 2024, Nathan Kress revealed at a fan convention that Paramount+ had alluded to a future renewal but ultimately cancelled the iCarly revival due to financial strain caused by the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

  • December 18, 2025: Nathan told The Amanda Exclusivo, “I think we have a really great story on our hands that’s kind of in the polishing phase right now that hopefully we will present that, it will get greenlit, and we can get [the iCarly movie] made next year … Hopefully we’re doing the movie, I wanna say, sometime in like late winter/early spring, that’s the goal if we can get [the iCarly movie] greenlit.”

iCarly can’t end on a cliffhanger. We request a season 4 or movie to give this iconic franchise the closure it deserves.
